Database Design / Data Modeling

The main objectives of Database Design are to produce logical and physical models of database systems. Logical Modeling concentrates on the business perspective, data requirements and logical entities. It does not concern itself with how the data will be stored physically. Physical Modeling involves translating the logical design of the database on hardware resources and software systems such as database management systems. Transformation from logical model to physical model includes creating database objects, imposing database rules, implementation of referential integrity, constraints etc. To perform database design, Data Modeling Tools are used to standardize, design, deploy, find and visualize high-quality enterprise data models.
